CALL THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING TO ORDER
 

It is acknowledged that this meeting is being held on the traditional territory of the Syilx/Okanagan Peoples.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the orders of the Provincial Health Officer and the Province of BC Ministerial Order No. M083 (Emergency Program Act), the Special Council meeting space is not open to the public.

Additionally, in accordance with the Province of BC Ministerial Order No. M083 (Emergency Program Act), the Council of the City of West Kelowna will attend the meeting by electronic means.

PROCEDURAL MOTION
 

  • THAT Council close the meeting in accordance with Section 90(1) of the Community Charter for:

    (i) the receipt of advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose; and

    (k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public; and

    In accordance with Section 90(2) of the Community Charter for:

    (b)  the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party.
