The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m.

It was acknowledged that this meeting was held on the traditional territory of the Syilx/Okanagan Peoples.

This meeting was open to the public.  All representations to Council form part of the public record.  This meeting was webcast live and archived on the City's website.

Council congratulated West Kelowna’s Rad Relish on winning the Business of the Year Award, in the One to Two Person Enterprise category, on Oct. 7, from the BC Achievement Foundation, which celebrates the exceptional achievements of Indigenous businesses. November 8 is Indigenous Veterans Day to remember the sacrifices and honour the service of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples and their long and proud tradition of military service to Canada. Council invited the community to attend the Royal Canadian Legion’s Remembrance Day ceremonies on Monday, Nov. 11, from 10:45 a.m. to noon, at Royal LePage Place.

Trevor Seibel, Deputy CAO provided an overview of Fire Hall #32 Replacement project and was available for questions.

Fire Chief Jason Brolund provided Council an update and overview of the Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan including consultation processes.

    THAT Council support the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) grant application to the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Community Emergency Preparedness Fund (CEPF) for Indigenous Cultural Safety and Cultural Humility Training 2024 intake for the development and delivery Emergency Operations Center staff training in 2025;

    AND THAT the RDCO be authorized to apply for, receive and manage the grant funding on behalf of the City of West Kelowna.
